Check compiler version without contacting license server?

Hello,

Is there a way to get the Intel compiler version without contacting the license server?  I have a tool that checks the compiler version before choosing compiler flags.  We are very limited in the number of compiler seats so I would like to avoid checking the license when all I want is the compiler version.
